CT Scan

A CT Scan, or computed tomography scan, is an advanced medical imaging procedure that combines multiple X-ray measurements taken from different angles to produce detailed cross-sectional images of the body. These images provide a 3D view of internal structures, organs, bones, and blood vessels. Unlike traditional X-rays, which provide a flat image, CT scans offer a layered, in-depth perspective. This technology aids doctors in diagnosing diseases, monitoring treatments, and planning surgeries by offering a clear visualization of internal anatomy without invasive procedures.

Curve Beam HiRise

Slocum is home to a state-of-the-art, weight-bearing, extremity CT machine, the Curve Beam HiRise. This machine allows the physicians to not only see slices of anatomy but also 3-D reconstructions of the injured body part, to aid in fracture diagnosis. The scans can be performed in either a standing or a seated position, to best accommodate the patient and physician needs. As an added benefit, the radiation dose for this machine is significantly lower than conventional CT. We have also received RadSite accreditation, ensuring that high standards of care are met and followed.

Slocum is proud to be only of the only facilities on the West Coast to use the Curve Beam HiRise technology.
