With more than 22 years of healthcare experience and a master's degree and background in accounting, I am honored to have achieved progressive advancement in healthcare leadership.
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Slocum Orthopedics, I use my skills to empower people and help provide the opportunities to make lives better. I love problem-solving, and improving complex systems along with my teammates to create the best possible environment to work, learn, and provide care. I have a passion for education and community service, and enjoy volunteering with animal shelters, food pantries, and with community civic events.
When I'm not working, I spend my time outside hiking, camping, kayaking, and traveling as much as possible with my family.
Education & Training
I have 22 years of healthcare experience, starting with Accounting and moving into Operations leadership not long after. I have worked in large and small private practice groups as well as not-for-profit and university health systems. I have extensive experience opening and growing clinic practices in Orthopedics, Primary Care, and 25 additional medicine and surgical specialties. My years of experience as a hospital administrator give me additional insight to the nuances of our partnerships with other healthcare providers in our community. I have a master’s degree in accounting and started my career working from that aspect of healthcare leadership.
Credentials
I am honored to have achieved progressive advancement in healthcare leadership over the years. I have opened clinics on many occasions, including leading the building and operations design and implementation for a variety of specialties. The latest being a large Center of Excellence for Orthopedic Practice and Research in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
