Daniel C. Fitzpatrick, MD
“A simple stumble over a speed bump changed my life. I fell, and my left arm/wrist took the full impact of my fall. It hurt, and I felt so foolish, but my daughter drove me to the ER where X-rays showed a very bad break of both bones in my upper arm near my wrist. Dr. Daniel Fitzpatrick was my surgeon, with the assistance of Jason Salden, PAC. After the surgery, I was told it was more extensive an injury than they anticipated. I had steel plates attached to both bones, the fractures were more difficult to repair because the bones had shattered like a piece of china. They prepared me at that time for a possibility that this was a ‘life-changing injury.’ Nearly three months later, I am improving. I still have a way to go. At this time, Jason Salden, Dr. Fitzpatrick, and my great team of physical therapists (thank you, Nancy and Sheila) aren’t sure I will recover full use of this wrist, but it won’t be for lack of care or trying! I am truly grateful to Slocum Orthopedics, not only for the quality of care I have received, but for the understanding and simple human dignity given to me as a patient throughout my whole ordeal. An ordeal started by a simple stumble over a speed bump!“
