“I was very impressed with Dr. Routhier. I felt very comfortable with her, and the examination felt unrushed. From the perspective of a layperson with little experience with orthopedic matters, Dr. Routhier seemed well versed in her specialty. Most impressive for me, however, was her suggestion to try a steroid injection into my bursa. I had come to see her for an intra-articular injection, which an orthopedic surgeon (not with Slocum) had suggested for non-surgical pain relief for osteoarthritis in my left hip. I told her about my disappointment with the treatment. After hearing about my symptoms and then examining me, Dr. Routhier suggested the bursa injection as a possible alternative. I agreed to her suggestion. That treatment has provided much greater pain relief than the joint injection and I am very grateful to her.
