Kenneth P. Butters, MD

March / 23 / 2023

“I was losing the cartilage in my shoulder joints at an early age. I was told by my local orthopedic surgeon that Dr. Butters was the best in the region and so I went to him. He wisely insisted that I make a commitment to attend physical therapy at Slocum for a certain period. This was a big decision for me as it is an all-day trip for me to go to Slocum. The surgery went very well and my left arm had to be immobilized for a month. I was very pleased with the results: I can do anything with my left arm that I could do years ago before the pain started. I am able to paddle a sea kayak 12 miles on flat water. I work my arms with free weights while I am watching TV, and there is no difference between the left and right arms. If the cartilage in the right shoulder vanishes (we expect that it will at some point), I would definitely do this again at Slocum.“
