DESCRIPTION
Preview
This position prepares and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation in the sterile field during surgical procedures, while following appropriate regulations and industry standards to provide safe patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures the proper functioning of equipment prior to its use
- Assists, as needed, with transporting patient to and from the operating room
- Understands standard concepts, practices and procedures within the surgical technologist field (i.e. setting-up and maintaining a sterile field)
- Anticipates and responds to surgical requirements for all procedures
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of one-year experience as a surgical technician. Must be a certified surgical technician or be a graduate of a surgical technician course and be eligible for certification. Orthopedic experience desirable.
