Ron Smith, PA-C
I have practiced as an orthopedic physician assistant in Oregon since completing my training at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in 2004. My experience includes total joint replacement, sports medicine, and general surgical and clinical orthopedics. Before entering orthopedics, I served as a firefighter and paramedic in Tempe, Arizona, then moved to Oregon to complete my undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon.
I grew up in a military household as the son of an Air Force pilot, and that experience gave me an early sense of service. Because we moved often, sports became one of the ways I connected with people. Over time, I became interested in how the body performs, gets injured, and heals. That interest carried through high school and collegiate athletics, as well as 2 years pushing bobsleds for the U.S. team. It eventually led me to a career focused on helping people regain function and return to the activities they value.
I appreciate being part of a practice that can offer such comprehensive orthopedic care in one setting. Outside of work, I enjoy supporting youth sports and spending time with my family. I also take every opportunity to enjoy Oregon and stay active in ways that support long-term health and wellness.
