At Slocum Orthopedics, our commitment to our community extends far beyond the walls of our practice. We’re proud to announce that the Slocum has been recognized with the “Those That Inspire” award for Corporate & Foundation at the recent Lane Community College (LCC) President’s Circle Reception.

This prestigious award acknowledges our long-standing dedication to supporting education and inspiring the next generation of professionals in our community. The President’s Circle at LCC represents the most engaged donor society at the college, providing crucial resources to support the institution’s mission and help students achieve their educational goals.

Our journey with LCC began over a decade ago, and since then, we’ve been honored to contribute in various ways:

2009: We made a major gift to the Opening Doors Unrestricted Fund, helping to provide flexible support for the college’s most pressing needs.
2010: We established our scholarship endowment, laying the groundwork for sustainable, long-term support of LCC students.
2011 – present: We’ve been proud sponsors of The Celebration (formerly known as the Harvest Dinner), an annual event that brings together supporters of the college.
2022: We created two new annual scholarships, expanding our ability to directly impact students’ lives.

Currently, Slocum maintains three scholarships at LCC. One is funded through our endowment, while two are paid annually and named in honor of Dr. Stanley James, a respected figure in our organization’s history.

The “Those That Inspire” awards, recently renamed by the LCC Foundation, recognize donors who make a minimum annual investment of $1,000 in support of the college’s mission. We’re humbled to be counted among this group of inspiring contributors.

We believe that investing in education is one of the most powerful ways we can contribute to our community’s future. By supporting LCC, we’re helping to ensure that local students have access to quality education and the opportunity to pursue their dreams.

We’re deeply grateful for this recognition from Lane Community College. It reinforces our commitment to not only provide excellent orthopedic care but also to play an active role in nurturing the growth and development of our community. As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to inspiring and supporting the next generation of professionals. We’re excited to continue our partnership with LCC and to explore new ways to make a positive impact on education in our area.
