Description

  • Applicants must be able to make quick and accurate decisions and work well in a small team environment. A friendly, positive, and caring attitude with all patients, co-workers, and patient caregivers is essential. Strong organizational skills, with a clear understanding of the importance of efficiency is necessary. The knowledge and skills required to admit and recover patients from surgery is required. The RN must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as patient teaching is a large component of the position. Two years of PACU, ICU, ER, or equivalent experience is desired. Knowledge of orthopedic surgery is preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Adherence to Universal Precautions and familiarity with correct emergency procedures is required. The ability to push gurneys, assist patients with durable medical equipment and dressing, and put away supplies requires the applicant to stand for long periods, stoop, and squat. The applicant should be able to lift and/or assist with up to 50 pounds.
  • Applicants must have a current Oregon nursing license, and current CPR and ACLS certification. PALS is preferred, but may be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Summary

The Slocum Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking to fill a per-diem/relief, Registered Nurse position in the Pre-Op/PACU department. Applicants must have recent critical care experience in PACU, ICU, ED, or equivalent. Current Oregon RN license with BLS & ACLS required. PALS is preferred but may be obtained within first six months of hire. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment efficiently.
