Caiti Bettger
Growing up, I played competitive soccer with a goal to land a college scholarship. During my junior year of high school, I injured my knee and underwent surgery to repair my meniscus. Through rehabilitation, I was able to get back to playing soccer and was able to earn the scholarship I had aimed for.
I had taken an interest in science classes early on, and went on to study biology and physics. With my orthopedic injury and academic interests, orthopedics became a natural career path. Today, I serve as a board-certified physician's assistant where I'm able to bring my personal experience and education to help treat patient injuries. I find getting people back to their sports and daily activities after an injury very rewarding.
When I am not busy at work I like to explore Oregon with my husband and two dogs. We like to hike, bike, and kayak new places almost every weekend. I also like to ski as much as possible. My non sporty interests include reading, baking, and crafting.
Education & Training
I graduated from Saint Louis University in 2017. My first job as a PA was at Mercy Hospital Saint Louis with Dr. Gregory Galakatos in general orthopedics. We had clinic and surgery every day as well as hospital rounds/consults. He would treat every joint except the spine so I got to learn a lot of orthopedics very quickly. My husband went remote during the spring of 2020 which let me look for a new job. I started at Slocum in December of 2020 and have mostly worked with Dr. Lantz and Dr. Mildren doing sports medicine and total joint replacement.
