Heidi Gaines, PT
Movement and physical fitness have always been central to my life, making physical therapy a natural career path. I enjoy partnering with patients throughout their recovery, helping them overcome injury and return to the activities that keep them active and healthy.
Before earning my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Puget Sound, I worked as a personal trainer, building a strong foundation in movement and exercise. I later practiced as a manual therapist in a private outpatient clinic before joining the team at Slocum Orthopedics. My background in competitive gymnastics, diving, and, more recently, bodybuilding has given me a firsthand appreciation for the physical, mental, and emotional challenges that can accompany injury. I enjoy combining those personal experiences with evidence-based care to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Slocum's reputation for excellence in sports medicine, its collaborative team, and its outstanding facility made it an ideal place to continue my career. Working alongside skilled physicians and therapists allows me to provide comprehensive care that supports each patient's unique recovery.
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy hiking, gardening, lifting weights, and seeking new adventures with my husband and our three sons.
