Julie Embree

Specialty
Director of Therapy

During my 15 years with Slocum Orthopedics, I’ve led therapy course work for the University of Oregon’s (UO) physiology department and received the Louis Osternig Clinical Education Award in 2022.

Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to be an advocacy member for The OrthoForum, completed coursework for Connect Therapy, mentored for the REVitalize Movement Revolution, and worked on the team that created the total joint program at Slocum. Proudly consulting for the UO athletics department for the past 20 years, in my role as the director of therapy I also have the opportunity to manage a staff of more than 25 team members and treat patients.

Since I was young, I’ve always cared for others. As a lifelong learner, I strive to always improve my skills through mentorship, education, and course work. In doing so, I’m able to help athletes, patients, students, and staff in navigating their rehabilitation and their careers.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, Barre 3 and reading. You can also find me quilting with friends, watching UO athletics, and volunteering in Eugene and the Dominican Republic.
