Michael Matteo, PT
Physical therapy became a natural career choice after I had the opportunity to job shadow at a clinic in high school. I was immediately drawn to the profession because it combined my interests in sports and science while offering the chance to help people return to the work, hobbies, and activities that are important to them.
Before joining Slocum, I worked in an outpatient clinic in Missouri, where I treated a wide variety of orthopedic and trauma conditions. Because of the clinic's rural setting, I gained experience caring for patients with a broad range of injuries and diagnoses. I was also fortunate to spend time observing and job shadowing at Slocum before becoming a physical therapist, so I was excited when the opportunity arose to join the team.
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, fishing, playing basketball, and trying new recipes in the kitchen, whether cooking or baking.
