Wella Augustine, PT, CHT
Helping patients regain function and confidence after an upper extremity injury is what makes my work as a hand therapist so rewarding. At Slocum Orthopedics, I have the opportunity to focus on the specialty I enjoy most while helping patients return to the activities that are important to them.
I earned my Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver in 2005 before completing an orthopedic residency with Therapeutic Associates in Eugene in 2013. I became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2015 and also earned board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a credential I maintained from 2013 to 2023. I enjoy learning about movement, exercise, and the remarkable way the body functions, and I feel fortunate to have found a profession that combines those interests with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
The opportunity to specialize in upper extremity rehabilitation and practice hand therapy every day made Slocum a natural fit for me. Working alongside a team dedicated to exceptional orthopedic care allows me to provide focused, evidence-based treatment tailored to each patient's goals.
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband and friends, lifting weights, running, traveling, and dancing the Argentine tango, which has become one of my greatest passions.
