Rudolf G. Hoellrich, MD
“My total experience was a very good one. I tell everyone who will listen that I recommend it for everyone. And the surgical process of a total shoulder replacement was a successful one. The nurses and staff were great. And importantly, I recovered without incident. I was pain-free during the first two days because of the nerve block. I walked a mile or so in the hospital daily. By the time I was discharged I did not need any pain medication. Post op the therapy went extremely well. I was able shortly after the operation to return to my normal duties. I basically remain pain-free today with most of my range of motion restored. I worked hard for three months before surgery to prepare. I walked long distances in the hospital to get pain free upon discharge. And I pushed through my therapy sessions. These seem to have helped me to have a quick and successful recovery. However, I was reminded by Dr. Hoellrich, just before discharge, that a lot of my post surgical muscular recovery was due to good genes and not my hard pre and post surgery workouts. We both had a good laugh on that statement. It is now almost six months after surgery. I am able to do almost everything I want to do that I did before the operation; and some things that I could not do for some time because of the shoulder pain.“
