Collateral Ligament Repair

Effective Collateral Ligament Repair for Knee Stability

Collateral ligament repair is a surgical procedure that is performed to repair a damaged collateral ligament in the knee. The collateral ligaments are located on the inside and outside of the knee joint and help to stabilize the joint. When these ligaments are damaged due to an injury or overuse, it can cause pain, instability, and difficulty with movement.

During the procedure, the surgeon will make a small incision near the affected ligament and use specialized tools to reattach or repair the ligament. This may involve using sutures, anchors, or other devices to hold the ligament in place while it heals.

After the procedure, the patient will need to undergo a period of rehabilitation to help restore strength and mobility to the knee joint. This may involve physical therapy, exercises, and other treatments to help the patient regain full function of their knee. With proper care and rehabilitation, most patients are able to return to their normal activities within a few months after the surgery.
