Hand/Finger Tenolysis: Release Stuck Tendons for Mobility
Hand/Finger Tenolysis is a surgical procedure that involves the release of tendons in the hand or fingers that have become stuck or scarred. This can occur as a result of trauma, injury, or previous surgery. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, and involves making a small incision in the affected area to access the tendon. The surgeon then carefully cuts through any adhesions or scar tissue that may be restricting the movement of the tendon, allowing it to move freely again. Once the tendon has been released, the incision is closed with sutures. Hand/Finger Tenolysis is typically an outpatient procedure, and patients can usually return to normal activities within a few weeks. Physical therapy may be recommended to help regain strength and range of motion in the affected hand or finger.
