Achilles tendinitis is a common condition characterized by pain and inflammation in the Achilles tendon, the thick band of tissue that connects the calf muscles to the heel bone. This condition often occurs due to repetitive stress or overuse, commonly seen in runners and athletes. Symptoms of Achilles tendinitis include pain and stiffness in the back of the leg, especially during physical activity or after prolonged periods of rest. Swelling and tenderness may also be present in the affected area.
