Brian A. Jewett, MD

Specialty
Primary & Revision Total Replacement of the Hip & Knee

Having grown up on the west coast, I take great pride in providing our care to our community, and helping make Slocum Orthopedics the greatest orthopedic clinic in Oregon.

There is no greater opportunity in medicine to impact people's lives other than joint replacement surgery. I am blessed and proud to be able to alleviate people's pain and restore their joint function through our ever improving hip and knee replacement surgeries, that today is considered outpatient surgery for most.

My time away from work is spent enjoying the wonderful things that our community provides, including Oregon sports, music, food, and the wonderful rivers and mountains. I enjoying and spending time with my wife Debbie golfing, biking and hiking, and traveling, and enjoy spending time and with my grown children and grandchilden, and of course my dogs Flash and Jasper.

Testimonials

“Very pleased with my results from bilateral total knee arthroplasty staged over a year. Surgery on my left knee, in particular, was challenging, I am sure, due to the amount of bone loss that had occurred over the years. Dr. Jewett did a great job on both knees, and I had a fantastic outcome. I am more mobile than I have ever been, am now able to travel again and continue to work pain-free full-time as well as by the veterinary practice I have worked in for some years. Many thanks!”

“Dr. Jewett from beginning to end is the best. He gives you your options, based on what he sees in your x-rays and what you have to tell him about your conditions. You make your choice, and he follows through with you. What more can you ask? Thank you, Dr. Jewett.”

“Dr. Jewett has the best bedside manner of any doctor I have EVER seen. It was a funny and memorable appt., and I was there to talk to him about having advanced arthritis in both hips at age 43! If I need his full services in the future, I already have high confidence in him. He also comes highly recommended by people wherever I go; be it the dentist or my therapist.”

“I did a lot of research before selecting Dr. Jewett for my recent right hip replacement, everything from word-of-mouth to computer searches. I live over 70 miles from the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, but it was so worth it. The entire experience, from pre-op to post-care has been so professional and compassionate; it was worth the travel. The surgery was terrific with very little post-op pain and rapid recovery. At 72 years young and with a collapsed head of a femur, I was not an ideal candidate but, no worries. Six months later I’m very active in the garden, swimming, and finding my stamina better than before surgery. I’d recommend the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine without reserve.”

“He is a great doctor. Very pleasant and helpful in answering all your questions before surgery. Great bedside manner. He now has replaced both my right and left hips and no complications. So very happy with his work!”

“I would go to no other orthopedic office for care. Knee replacement has given me my life back.”

“Always willing to answer my questions in depth. Concerned about me as a person, not just a patient. Provided much information so I felt well-prepared for surgery and recovery. I appreciate the good health and quality of life that has been returned to me due to his expertise and skills.”

“Dr. Jewett has replaced both of my knees and hips over the past 15 or so years. He was the first Dr. to be willing to take down my “Fused” rt. hip which was the result of an accident in 1953, when all else would not work the Drs at that time fused it! The difference in my life style was and is amazing. After he replaced the fused hip I was able to actually sit in a normal chair for the first time in 50+ years.”

“I had first a Hip Replaced which went so well. I have been told by several people and a Physical Therapist that if you are needing this done, he is the best. And that is the results that I have had as well. Then I had a knee replaced and again it went so well, that I don’t know why I waited so long. I would refer anyone to him!”
