Dr. Brick Lantz and Other Slocum Volunteers Return from Fourth Mission Trip to Haiti

September / 23 / 2016

Dr. Brick Lantz, Slocum Center for Orthopedics Sports Medicine surgeon, along with other several other Slocum Center volunteers, recently returned from their fourth mission trip to Haiti. As the only orthopedic team out of approximately six that provide surgical care throughout the year, Dr. Lantz and his crew saw patients who have been waiting for orthopedic care for months. Even though the volunteers are changing the lives of the patients they help, Dr. Lantz is quick to share the great extent of how it’s also life changing for himself and the other Slocum Center volunteers. We have more volunteers from Slocum than the compound has room for, Dr. Lantz said. That says something about their compassion and commitment. I am extremely proud and grateful that I work with people who want to make a difference in the world outside of their day-to-day lives.
