Lyle T. Jackson Jr., MD
As a team doctor for the University of Oregon (UO) Athletic Department and a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, I enjoy working with patients to create individualized treatment plans, and help them return or participate in the activities they most enjoy. As a lower extremity specialist offering sports, foot, and ankle coverage for the UO, I have the opportunity to work with patients from all ages and walks of life. My approach begins with listening to each patient and their concerns, and find it most rewarding when they are able to reach their individual goals.
I am a lower extremity specialist. I treat all problems of the foot and ankle. I provide sports and foot and ankle coverage for the University of Oregon Athletic Department. I treat hip and knee arthritis. I love the variety and challenges that patients bring to the clinic each day, which keeps me striving to create individualized care. I have the privilege to improve patients lives and activities and help them achieve their goals.

I grew up in Grants Pass, Oregon. I did my undergraduate education at University of Washington becoming a mechanical engineer. I worked 4 years as a medical device design engineer in Seattle area before returning to medical school at University of Washington. Orthopaedics became my passion. Orthopaedic residency was at the University of South Carolina, Greenville. Fellowship was at UC Davis. And since 2016, I have been at Slocum and caring for the greatest community in Oregon.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family including my wife and three children. We enjoy skiing in the winter, rafting in the summer and biking in between.
